FUTURE HOPE SCHOOL, Nepal

Nepal is among the poorest and least developed countries in the world with almost one-third of its population living below the poverty line. Its families are unable to take care of their children or provide for their needs. These children desperately need financial assistance not only to help them escape poverty but also to have hope for a better future.

Future Hope School is a place of safety, love and education for 57 street children ranging from 3 - 11 years old in Kathmandu, Nepal. These impoverished children are provided with school supplies, uniforms and daily meals. In this safe and secure environment, the children are taught reading and writing in both Nepali and English, basic math skills, art, music and social studies.

The teachers of Future Hope School take a personal interest in encouraging the students to have a positive attitude, despite their personal struggles. Future Hope not only gives the children the basic education they need, but also helps to reinforce the importance of continued education. Sunflower is creating scholarships so each child can continue to advance in education and have a chance for a brighter future. "Where love and education rule there is Future Hope".

• Implement a broader program to accomodate children through 3rd grade
• Increase enrollment up to 70 students
• Provide extracirricular activities, including dancing and singing lessons
• Make sure the students have a solid education which will enable them to pass the entrance exam for private education, which is available from 4th grade
• Implement a scholarship program so all students can further their education
